For special occasions like a family dinner, or when you have business associates or friends over, little finishing touches can add a lot to the dining table where you sit down to share the meal, as well as conversation and each other's company.
Table centerpieces are the favorite decoration, and in a pinch, you can always use the silk arrangement that you keep in the china cabinet, or get a fresh flower arrangement from the local florist.
Some people however, like to exercise their preferences or creativity, and assemble their own centerpiece creations. Candelabras are extremely popular, but when considering these, keep in mind the material they are crafted from. Silver is wonderful, but cleaning something with whorls and deep troughs in the design can be very difficult. The alternative is silver-plated candelabras, but although they do look nice, just don't have the same shine as "real" silver.
The candelabra should not dominate your table. This doesn't mean you have to sacrifice the number of candles for a small dinner party of eight. It just means you need to choose a style that is lower in the pedestal, so that guests are able to see across the table. You can still have five graduated candles with a peak in the center, which provides plenty of light and warmth to the room and the table atmosphere.
To enhance the light from your candelabras, place them on round mirror bases, than have felt on the reverse side, to save the table surface if you aren't using a cloth. Multiply your light and the glitter of crystal and silver, by placing miniature crystal figurines around the base of the candelabra, or for the very low models, on either side. Not only will the glitter dazzle your guests, but it will earn you a reputation for inventiveness!

How to Have a Successful Fundraiser
by: Paul Jensen
To achieve a successful fundraiser you need to create
awareness and excitement.
Some things to consider:
When planning a fundraiser the most important
question you need to answer is: How much money
do you need to raise?
How many people do you have that can help carry out
the fundraiser?
When will the fundraiser start and when will it
end? It is generally a good idea to have the fundraiser
last
2 weeks or less. With a smaller window of
opportunity, people are more inclined to act immediately.
It is important to get a commitment to the fundraiser the
first time, and eliminate the need for a second sales pitch.
Collect the payment at the point of sale. This
eliminates the need to collect payment at the time of
delivery...

by: Sintilia Miecevole
Accessorizing your home is a very important aspect in the decorating process. You can add character and beauty to a home in many ways:
Look at your home and decide what theme you want to accomplish. Is it a contemporary, country, southwest, traditional or ethic style? Look in magazines, books or the internet to find accessories you would like. Have at least one piece you treasure in every room! Purchase accessories that go with the theme and color of your room. Color choices should compliment the main color in the room.
It is recommended to group your accessories in odd numbers. Different heights and textures are also attractive. For example, a night side table can have a lamp, picture frame and small pot of flowers as a grouping.
Entry ways should be uncluttered. This area of the home is the first hint at what the rest of your home is like. A side table with your most dramatic...

Candle Magic - Tips for Decorating with Candles
by: Bill Wilson
Candles have been used in home settings for centuries.
Originally used for illumination, they were very utilitarian in function, with no thought of appearance or scent.
But with electricity becoming commonplace, the candles role began to change.
Candles became more decorative and were recognized for their ability to achieve a certain ambiance, or mood, in any room.
Candles went from being exclusively for tabletop settings to more designer-oriented sconces and multi-candle wall displays.
But for the traditionalist, a formal dinner table is still not complete without at least a couple of tall tapered candles.
Scented Candles
Scented candles are just wonderful for decorating your home.
Most are offered in attractive styles and decorative shapes, making them easy and fun to use around the house.
